Our Ministry Philosophy

Our Kingdom Agenda

At THCI, we teach our members the principles of the Kingdom of God so they learn to function under the authority of the Kingdom in every dimension of life. Through the proper blending of God's Word with good works, the goal of our church is to visibly model God's Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

Vision Statement... "Discipling the church to impact the world, and to live transformed lives that reflect the values of the Kingdom of God"

Mission Statement... "Discipling the church to impact the world"

Our Four (4) Vital Experiences

Worship:      A Church that celebrates the glory of God.

Fellowship:  A church where no one stands alone.

Education:   A church that teaches the knowledge and application of God's Word.

Outreach:    A church that spreads the Good News of Christ in word and deed.

Our Seven (7) Core Foundational Values

Worship
Because we understand the importance of private and corporate worship, we work hard to provide an exciting and God-honoring environment. When we worship God, we express our love and devotion to Him. What an honor it is to humbly come before the Creator of the Universe, praising Him for who He is and what He has done (Psalm 66; 95:1–7).

Prayer
Because we recognize the profound importance of prayer, we desire to be a prayerful people who place our trust in the wisdom and power of God. We understand that prayer is the means by which we, as believers, communicate with Him. We pray because we love God and it enables us to come into deeper fellowship with Him. And we recognize the inherent value of prayer to discern God’s vision, leadership, and plan for the church and for our lives (Colossians 1:9–12; 4:2).

Teaching God's Word
We believe that the Bible is God's authoritative Word, meant for us to learn and live by (2 Timothy 3:16–17). We teach from it in reliance on the Holy Spirit whenever we gather (1 Timothy 4:13), and hold it's truths in highest esteem.

Building Families
Because we value family we desire to provide an atmosphere which strengthens family values and relationships and provides discipleship and support for members of our church family so that they are able grow spiritually into the image of Christ. We also want to provide a safe environment where our children can receive spiritual instruction and develop healthy relationships (Acts 2:42–47; Hebrews 10:24–25).

Loving Others
Because we love Jesus Christ, we work to love people—accepting them where they are and caring for them with gentleness and mercy. As a church, we desire to portray the attitude and heart of Christ as we reach out to others in need (Matthew 22:36–40; 1 John 4:7). We are also committed to reaching out to those in need through feeding and clothing programs and to helping the little ones by supporting orphanages—both in our community and around the world.

Outreach
Because we value God's free gift of eternal life, we desire to reach our community and the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 1:8). We will seek to live in such a way that those around us will see and be drawn to God’s love, to reach out in love to our community, and to be bold as we declare our faith.

Equipping People for Service
Because we recognize that every member in the body of Christ is gifted and called by God, we seek to equip people for ministry in the family, the church, the community, and the world. We desire to help people to discover their God-given spiritual gifts, talents, needs, and place for service (Ephesians 4:11–14).

Lastly...

  • We don't exist to preach, but to preach in the power of the Holy Spirit so that people are supernaturally awakened from unbelief and changed beyond what any human could cause.
  • We don't exist to teach Sunday school, but to teach in the power of the Holy Spirit so that children and young people and adults are supernaturally converted and built up in faith and love beyond what any human could cause.
  • We don't exist to sing, but to sing in the power of the Holy Spirit because the affections of our hearts are supernaturally illumined, and the glory of Christ is seen and savored beyond what any human or any music could cause.
  • We don't exist to do evangelism and missions, but to do evangelism and missions in the power of the Holy Spirit so that hard, unbelieving hearts would be supernaturally changed into soft, believing hearts.

We are not a club. We are not a mere social organization. We are not a weekly pep rally. We are a covenant band of saved sinners who have been supernaturally converted from unbelief to belief in Jesus as our God and our Savior and our Treasure. We are a people in whom the Holy Spirit mercifully dwells.

Therefore, everything we aim to accomplish as a church is impossible without the Holy Spirit’s special, supernatural action. From the making of a meal for a Lifegfroup, to the changing of a diaper in the nursery, to the preaching of a sermon—our aim in all of it is to by and through the power of the Holy Spirit and for the glory of God.
