Core Values
Worship Because we understand the importance of private and corporate worship, we work hard to provide an exciting and God-honoring environment. When we worship God, we express our love and devotion to Him. What an honor it is to humbly come before the Creator of the Universe, praising Him for who He is and what He has done (Psalm 66; 95:1–7). Prayer Because we recognize the profound importance of prayer, we desire to be a prayerful people who place our trust in the wisdom and power of God. We understand that prayer is the means by which we, as believers, communicate with Him. We pray because we love God and it enables us to come into deeper fellowship with Him. And we recognize the inherent value of prayer to discern God’s vision, leadership, and plan for the church and for our lives (Colossians 1:9–12; 4:2). God's Word We believe that the Bible is God's Word, meant for us to learn and live (2 Timothy 3:16–17). We teach from it in reliance on the Holy Spirit whenever we gather (1 Timothy 4:13). Family and Community Because we value family and community, we seek to connect people in relationship to Jesus Christ and to one another. We desire to provide an atmosphere which strengthens family values and relationships and provides discipleship and support for members of the church family so that they are able grow spiritually into the image of Christ. We also want to provide a safe environment where our children can receive spiritual instruction and develop healthy relationships (Acts 2:42–47; Hebrews 10:24–25). Love and Compassion Because we love Jesus Christ, we work to love people—accepting them where they are and caring for them with gentleness and mercy. As a church, we desire to portray the attitude and heart of Christ as we reach out to others in need (Matthew 22:36–40; 1 John 4:7). We are also committed to reaching out to those in need through feeding and clothing programs and to helping the little ones by supporting orphanages—both in our community and around the world. Evangelism and Missions Because we value God's free gift of eternal life, we desire to reach our community and the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 1:8). We will seek to live in such a way that those around us will see and be drawn to God’s love, to reach out in love to our community, and to be bold as we declare our faith. Equipping People for Service Because we recognize that every member in the body of Christ is gifted and called by God, we seek to equip people for ministry in the family, the church, the community, and the world. We desire to help people to discover their God-given spiritual gifts, talents, needs, and place for service (Ephesians 4:11–14).
