It is very early in the morning. I am sitting at my desk with coffee in tow. My Himalayan salt rock lamp is lighting my dark office, and some beautiful instrumental worship music is playing softly in the background. The atmosphere truly is perfect for writing to you.
In a few hours, I will be speaking to our precious ladies at our church on Proverbs 14:1, “The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish tears it down with her own hands.” As Christian women, we must understand that we have a choice to make. We can either choose to be in the construction business… building our homes, our lives, our relationships and friendships, our marriages, our businesses on a foundation of godly precepts OR we can choose to be in the demolition business of tearing down our lives and the above mentioned.
A builder always has a blue print of the structure they want to erect. A blue print is a design plan… a drawing, a sketch, a layout of the structure that covers every design detail. God is the Ultimate Builder. He has drawn up a Design Plan for your life that is flawless and covers every detail. He has a “Divine Blue Print” for your life. The Divine Blue Print is the Word of God. His Word is not only our blue print, but is the solid and firm foundation that our life is to be securely built upon.
Matthew 7:24-27 talks about the wise man who built his house upon the rock. When storms came, the house did not fall because it was founded on a solid and secure foundation. Also mentioned is the foolish man who built his house upon the sand. When the storms came, the house fell because it was built on an unstable foundation.
When we build our lives upon the firm foundation of God’s Word everything will flourish and thrive. Today I encourage you to choose to be a wise woman who builds her house …her life, her relationships and friendships, her marriage, her business on the solid and secure foundation of God’s Word. You can’t build anything great on a weak foundation, you must have a solid foundation if you’re going to have a strong superstructure.
