This Christmas Season Stay in His Peace
As I sit here overlooking from the view of our loft our beautifully decorated Christmas tree I am reminded of the beauty and peace that this Christmas season should bring to us as children of the Most High. This month I am choosing to stay in His peace.
Philippians 4:6-7 NIV says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
I have come to realize and accept that we cannot control what others say or do. We cannot control certain circumstances or disturbances that arise. But we can control whether we will stay or not stay in His peace. The choice is ours. The Word of God shows us how we can successfully do this if we so choose:
We are told to not be anxious or worried about anything or anyone. Not fretting, fearing or dreading.
We are then instructed in every situation and in every circumstance to pray to God and make our requests to Him.
Then we are to thank Him for hearing our prayers and taking our burdens. Knowing He is more than able to carry them and work all things out for His good in our lives and the lives of our loved ones.
Now we are to receive His peace which passes all human understanding. (Meaning even though the natural human response would be to freak out you are not going to because His peace has overtaken you.)
And finally, we are to allow His peace to guard our heart and our mind in Christ Jesus. (When you allow His peace to guard you, this means His peace will protect you.)
I ask you beautiful one… what is peace of mind worth to you this Christmas season? For me… it is priceless and worth everything.
I encourage you to stay in His peace. If anything or anyone is trying to rob you of His peace, do some reevaluation. Reread Philippians 4:6-7.
Read, just and stay in His peace. Remember His peace will guard you if you allow it to.
Enjoy the beauty and peace this Christmas season brings!
