Learn to Laugh
A couple of days ago, a precious friend and I could not help but laugh at an incident that happened to me recently. I labeled this unbelievable situation as the… “Please tell me that was a bad dream and really did not just happen to me!”, incident.
Can YOU relate?
Not that I was denying the seriousness of the circumstance at the time. In all actuality, it was not very funny. But as the days passed, through hours of heartfelt prayer, and diving into the Word, my emotions settled and I could find humor in it. I got so tickled I could barely stand up from laughing so hard.
Proverbs 17:22 NKJV says, “A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.”
The Bible is clearly praising one’s capacity to laugh, and showing the benefit of laughter. Laughter truly can do wonders for your soul. It can help heal your heart and your emotions. It will change your countenance, bringing a pearly white smile to your face. It even changes your outlook.
Today I encourage you to laugh. Don’t take life so seriously. Learn to find the humor in things. Again, I am not diminishing the seriousness of some situations, but I am encouraging you to learn to laugh at those incidents that you can see a thread of humor in.
In learning to laugh, you will become a healthier, happier YOU!
